Although I do get the feeling Tampa will get hit sooner rather than later, if it's been 80 years since the last major hurricane, who's to say it won't be another 80 years. People love to speculate about when there's going to be a major hurricane season, but it's so unpredictable that you really never know. The thing about Tampa is that generally, any hurricane/tropical storm that hits has to come across the state first. The storms rarely go out into the Gulf of Mexico and then curve back into the west coast of Florida. They either hit the panhandle or the east coast usually.

And let's hope it stays that way.

I hope this is a joke

I make it simple: stay away from the entire city of tampa limits NORTH of Kennedy, East of Himes, South of Bearss

There are nice pockets here and there, but by and large most of it is ghetto or very close to it (too close)

Apparently the suburbs are our only hope.

I can't answer for Tampa, since i've never lived there.

But I have lived in the Saint Petersburg area for many years.

Top 5:

1. Beach areas/close to water- this is for obvious reasons. It costs a fortune to live there and that's why it's exclusive

2. Seminole

3. Safety Harbor

4. Bellaire

5. Old Northeast

Worst 5:

1. Southside- This means southern part of Saint petersburg. Central ave. and parts south.

2. Lealman/pinellas park- lots of white trash

3. Downtown Clearwater

4. Largo- kinda spotty-some good areas, some hood areas.

5. Kenneth City
