The new mall has been approved in Wesley Chapel and i think it started construction on June 1 or something like that. I saw that its going to be the biggest mall in the Tampa Bay area. There is also a strip mall that they're going to build off of i-75. Wesley Chapel is really starting to get up and coming.

Both malls will be off of I-75. The larger one (Cypress Creek) will be built on SR56 and is about to start breaking ground.

The "strip mall" as you labeled it off of SR54 is coming along quite nicely and will also be quite big. It will have 800K square feet and include Best Buy, a 16 screen movie theater, Ross, Michaels, and a bunch of other smaller stores.

Wesley Chapel is really booming right now.

Oh wow! They just approved the new mall? I've been hearing about this mall since 2002. The local papers are also pegging Ruskin as another site for a new mall. Although, I think Brandon mall could use some competition since traffic their on most weekends is almost like the holiday season.

I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand the convenience is great (only three miles for Michaels, Ross and a book store) but on the other....more traffic, more crowding.

Well, since we apparently can't sell our house at least I won't have to go far to shop and I'm sure there will be a lot of employment opportunities for my kids as they get older.

I'd still rather move...

The more big commercial enterprises that come into the area, the more tax dollars are generated to actually do something about the roads. Also with the entry level jobs coming to the area, more professional jobs are soon to follow (again increasing the tax base). It's inevitable.

The Cypress Creek town center was cleared for construction in early may and The Grove at Wesley Chapel has been moving dirt for a few months now. The whole darn areas going to be terrific shopping soon.
