I just recently flew to New Orleans from Tampa airport and flew back to Tampa from New Orleans. I was very impressed with the entire airport, especially the economy parking and the shuttle system for the economy parking.
It was very nice to park in a parking garage instead of a parking lot. Plus the wait for the shuttle was almost non-existent.
I guess, since Tampa has hosted the Super Bowl a couple of times, Tampa would have the entire airport thing down to an exact science.
Good job!

It is a great airport isn't it? I only wish there were more shops as I am one who gets there so early I need time to kill aside from having a drink at the bar to calm my nerves.

That is very nice of you..The Tampa Airport has always been rated up at the top of all airports. IIRC it was #1 for a couple of years.

LOL.. Kathleen.. I am right there with ya.

I always noticed that it was nice as well. Every time my family visited St. Pete, we would fly out of O'Hare or Midway in Chicago, and into Tampa. I hate the Chicago airports and have always been impressed with the one in Tampa.

I forgot to mention that one of the things I love best about it is how incredibly clean the whole airport usually is. I have flown into some pretty nasty airports and try to avoid restrooms but Tampa is always spotless.

All this talk of airports is making me crave a bloody Mary. And I usually only have those when I have to fly.

ETA- It's been a few years but for an incredible breakfast the Airport Marriot ( I think it's a Marriot) is the way to go. They have a fruit, yogurt and granola parfait that is to die for.

When I arrived back to Tampa from New Orleans, I found that my car battery was dead. All I had to do is use the phone by the elevator (which was near my car, thank goodness) to phone for assistance. Help showed up in less than 10 minutes. There was a fee of $15, which I thought was reasonable. The man even gave me advice of not running the a/c for awhile until the battery had time to charge some. That was nice, since he didn't have to say anything.
Sure was a hot drive back to Jacksonville!! (I finally turned the a/c on when I got to Orlando.)

+1 on that. TIA is a great airport and my favorite. The National car rental location is a bit in the boonies but the shuttle is very convenient and has never been crowded when I've taken it.

The Tampa airport has always been a top airport design. I think its one of the reasons we get the superbowls.... i believe the great airport came first. Its always ranked as one of the best. Compare it to Atlanta which is a nightmare!
