Is it easy to find a job in Tampa? I was thinking about a department store like Dillard's, Macy's, Sacks etc.

I can't get one of those jobs! I've been applying, I've had an HR specialist tell me there's nothing wrong with my resume, yet I cannot get one of those jobs.

Those signs are fake; they're only there so people "think" the jobs are available when in fact they are not. It's facade.

You're kidding, right? Fake signs for job opportunities? Retail was one of the first to come back after the recession. People are spending money again. Retailers need employees to meet the increased demand.

IMO they are gathering a bunch of applicants so if needed for Xmas season then that go after Xmas. Also all those type of jobs are part time and min wage with commission. And if you don't sell much they let you go. These kind of jobs is like a revolving door.

There is no shortage of employees available for the Christmas season. Those are jobs that end after the holidays for most people.

Not all retail jobs involve direct selling"so there is no commission.
Companies have people working in their stores who know the products, love the products, and live the lifestyle the products were intended to serve. As of 2012 70% of retail workers in the United States were part-time. Its a tough job. Flexibility of your work schedule is required. A dedication to customer service is required. When a customer enters the store, it is important that the sales associate does everything in his power to make the customer feel welcomed, important, and make sure he leaves the store satisfied.

There are millions of retail associates in the US and there always will be.

There is a BOOM in retail here in Sarasota/Manatee. That big new upscale mall, the University Town Center is set to open this fall. Great place to find a job for anyone looking.

How do you think those salespeople at sears and hh greg, and bestbuy make there living not off min. Wage commission for selling appliance and electronic's. My wife's friend works at Macy's in Chicago it's part time and min wage and commission. None of these stores hire full time except the managers. Yes there are jobs that just pay regular min wage only like the ones selling clothes but for high end products like shoes and purses and jewelry it also commission. Except stores like Walmart and Kmart and target and SAMs they all pay low wages not enough to live on and all part time.

Can you feed a family of 3 on there wages hell no. These jobs are mostly married wife's who husband has a full time job, or collage kids living at home still, or retires looking to stay active and make a few bucks.
