Hi all. Does Palm Haarbor or Pinellas County have any type of local magazines. For example here in Baton Rouge we have Baton Rouge Parents Magazine that has great local articles and things to do for families etc and there are several other local type magazines here that are great for finding activities to do. Is there any thing like that there? Also, where do locals like to hang out in Palm Harbor. How is the East Lake area for a family of 3..housing, crime etc...Thanks!

Tampabay Parents or (Parenting) is the only local Parenting magazine I am familiar with. It's available at Sweetbay supermarket. Palm Harbor is very family friendly, but not sure where to go for gymnastics. Kids in my neighborhood are very into sports offered by the local rec centers or schools. There's a lot to do in Tampa- museums, art, culture. I have lived in Palm Harbor for about six years.

Yes, Palm harbor is very family friendly. There are nice parks with play ground such as my favourite Wall Springs (Wall Springs Park). You can do lots of things there. Pinellas trail is right there, if you want to test your biking skill.

As for Gymnastic, our son was in a gymnatic class in countryside (at Belcher) that is part of clearwater but close to palm harbor. I am sure there are in PH but this was the one we went and very nice academy. We actually made his birthday there with a lot of gymnastic sessions and falks invited were very happy and wanted to send their kids there.

At PH you are going to get the best of Tarpon (with its historical down town), Dunedin (also with a nice down town and many street activity as well as the beach), Safety Harbor, Clearwater. So, I say that's a nice place for family. You have lots of things to do in a few driving distance.

Good luck
