I want to go with you on vacation. Beats the crap out of my one road trip to Atlanta.

I don't know how I missed this thread before, but FloridaKash you are hilarious. You made me smile and I love your unending enthusiasm.
I have a funny story (not that funny to publish) about a 3 day mind games/battle I had with a rat who got into my house when some idiot member of my family left the door to the garage open into the house!
They are a pain if they hang around, but I got a decent exterminator once some found their way into my attic. Never seen em since. I gave up on doing my own bug thing. I just pay a guy every 2 months $55 and am happy not to see them. I hope you are enjoying your new home and continue to do so.

Bummer to hear the mosquitoes are bad where you are. I can't stand the things (and they seem to love me).

Are there certain parts of Pinellas that are better or worse than other areas?

Glad everyone enjoys the updates. Its one of the ways I can contribute/repay to City-Data for all the info and knowledge I have gathered from here.

For those of you that do live here and are unhappy being here, be sure you get out and check out other parts of the area. Changing your scenery a bit and 'getting away' even if its only a hundred miles or so really helps lift spirits. Stop by your local Denny's and grab their hotel/motel coupon book point at a place on the map and go. It's a great way to enjoy your weekend and often you can find clean comfortable lodging for under $50 a night.

The mosquitoes tend to really enjoy eating my youngest and DW. They stay away from me for the most part, but I still get a few here and there when dusk is approaching. Bug dope is very effective against them, so there's a plus.

I would think that it really depends on the neighborhood, more than an area/region. If you have neighbors who have standing water on their property, its going to be worse around them. I have some insecticide coming in the mail and plan on fogging the trees around the property and treating the lawn. I think that may help some.

Your story is pretty entertaining. The whole tail light thing and having to drive back in the opisite direction *ugh* sounds like something that would happen to me.
