RUSKIN --
Chinese drywall issues have caught the attention of the Hillsborough County commission.

County leaders are meeting on Wednesday to discuss the launching of a program to help low-income homeowners who are dealing with Chinese drywall problems.

-------------------------------------

In addition, the county has just $500,000 to address the problems. That sum likely would only help a few homeowners.
------------------------------

County commission to lend a hand to Chinese drywall homeowners?

Sorry, but this article made me mad....

I understand there is not enough money to help...but why help one person and not the other?

People with low incomes shouldn't even be allowed to buy a home which they probable can't afford! They probable lied on their mortgage application, otherwise how can someone own a home on a low income.

What about a person who paid cash for the home and saved for years and years and didn't spent money on things that another did, just to be smart...should that person be denied for doing the right thing...!

IMO China should pay for the drywall that damaged the houses and caused illness. Not the county from tax payers money...and not chosing one home owner over the other!

BTW how many had of chose to walk away from their homes due to the issue with the drywall which no one is to blame for other than the company who made the product.

I'm not against helping any person, but don't pick and choose!

Sorry I had to get this of my chest.

I guess holding the contractors who installed this crap accountable is out of the question. Buyer beware, and all that. Chances are, the same crooked contractors will be hired to fix the tainted drywall.
BTW, the receptacle in the photo is wired incorrectly. I guess the inspectors didn't catch that, either.

I'm no expert but I take your word over the people building the home..., but it is very sad if that is true!
