I'm acutally not meeting people at all. I just hear people talking at work and so that's why I know that people my age are doing things that should be for people in their early 20's. It's pretty pathetic.

Thanks for the input.

You describe a responsible, and well-rounded individual. You are just not meeting people who possess commonalities with you. I would recommend that you change the venues where you are meeting people that you do not wish to befriend/interact with.

Yes, I have tried. Nothing came out of it so I cancelled my account. Thanks for your input.

OP, some in boring1 gave you good ideas about finding friends in Tampa. Some other stuff was just nonsense. Meetup was a good thought. Maybe you could enroll in classes that you'd enjoy and meet people who share those interests. Also I believe the universities in the area have music series that don't require drinking. For instance USF College of Visual and Performing Arts - Jazz Studies.

Or here's a site of jazz venues which are mostly clubs Jazz & Blues Florida - Florida's Online Guide to Live Jazz & Blues Music- West-Central, drinking or getting laid is probably just an option. Last I checked I didn't notice a mandate.

Basically, to meet people who share similar interests, simply involve yourself in those activities where you'll find those folks. It is a mystery what might motivate someone to tell you that you have to be relocating here to get such information from this forum.

If you are referring to me, this board has a lot of more appropriate forums where she would get a lot better advice. But you already know that, don't you?

Miss Jazz, you got my curiosity going as to local events so found some more. Looks like quite a bit of jazz in town...

tampa jazz club - schedule

The Palladium Theater

Clearwater Jazz Holiday 4 days and 4 nights of free live jazz

Suncoast Jazz Classic

With all that, probably you'll find at least one other appropriately sober jazz aficionado for a cohort. Good luck to ya.
