I'm moving to the Tampa area in July 2011. I'm going to be working for Total Quality Logistics. There located on Harbour Island. I'm a 31 yr. old single man, young professional. I just wanted some feedback or ideas on where the best place for me to live would be. It would be nice to stay 10 miles from work. I'm just going to be looking to rent an apartment for the time being. I just want a nice, safe place with some good sports bars & nightlife around. I'll be coming from Toledo,Oh. So I'm looking forward to the relocation. Thanks

I agree those are the best areas. You can check out Davis Island too. Apartments are older but you are surrounded by water

Everything you need is on Harbour Island. What could be more perfect?

Hi, We are a military family looking for a 4 bd. room (pref. with pool) in an excellent middle school district. Where should we live that is not too far from Macdill (don't want to drive over 20 minutes).

Thanks!

Coleman Middle would prob fit the bill. Look for houses in 33629, 33609 zip. You would want to confirm the school assignment before buying or renting anything. 4br house in that area would prob start in the 300's and go up from there.

Default San Diego or Tampa?

Ok, earlier I posted about moving to Tampa in August. I now have an opportunity to move to San Diego. I have a friend there that can help me get on my feet & show me around. Plus I would be living with him for a while. I don't have that luxury if I move to Tampa. I've been to San Diego twice in the past 2 years & love it. Obviously the main concern is cost of living. I do know Tampa is cheaper but have also heard that florida gets you elsewhere like insurance. My question is to anyone who has been to both places, which do you think is a better place to live? I'm not concerned with family oriented thing's because I'm single with no kids & really don't plan on it at all or in the near future. Thank You

You are going to hear both sides on this one. Some who live here will tell you to go to SD, but we have recently had some from SD who are moving here. SD will be much more expensive in every way, but weather and quality of life will probably be better. Plus you say you have a friend there, but no one in Tampa. What is the main issue in making your choice? Cost? Weather? Job? Things to do? That might help in making your decision.

My two main reasons for leaving are weather & opportunities. I live in Toledo,OH. Every year we are voted in the top 10 of most miserable cities. The weather here is terrible. Can't go outside for 5 months. The fact that there are hardly any career opportunities is a huge issue. I'm a people person & love meeting different people from all over. I have a job in both Tampa & SD. It's just a tough decision to make. Leaving family & friends to start a better life for myself.
