Boring like it always is. Somewhat cooler in the mornings and lower dewpoints for the next 5 days. Still highs will be around 86 to 90. We are over the worst of the insane heat and dry weather we have had since mid May.

60s in the mornings- too bad the tropical storm by-passed our area. Was looking forward to getting soaked.

Yup, initial models turned out to be a bust. At first they were predicting a CAT 2 or 3 hitting us head on, then dropped to a TS predicition, and finally the cold front came down and protected us completely. I was looking forward to some ~50mph winds and monsoonal type rain

We could have a system to watch toward the end of next week. Models aren't showing huge development right now but it's too far out to say for sure. Coming in from the atlantic right now and forecasted to get into the Caribbean.

Variety in the weather is fine with me. The 90+ degree dry weather can become monotonous, imo. Thanks for bring your weather expertise.

That is the big problem with our local weather people on the news, they depend on models. I use my head and do a much better job than they ever could.

That's called an expert system. If somebody could unlock the logic that you run in your head into some rule-based model that the TV guys can use, that would great !

I was born in Tampa in 1963 and know our local weather very well. I have seen our summer weather get hotter and dryer over the years. Also our winters have seen less and less rain over the years minus the winter of 97-98.

This last winter was a freak thanks to a sub surface polar jet that was displaced well to the south. After living here for 47 years nothing has come close to the 3 months of insane cold we had last Jan thru March. Only other winters that stand out as being rather cold are the winters of 76-77, 84-85 and 95-96. Then we also had the hard freezes of 81, then the 19 degrees in Tampa of Xmas of 83 and the cold blast of 85, last hard freez was in Xmas of 89 then we went until this last winter without what i call a hard freeze.

As i told you people last spring this would be a record hot summer thanks to high pressure in the upper levels that stayed locked over top of us.

Don't worry about the weather, it changes every day.

Maybe you were live. From mid May till Mid Oct it's mid to upper 90's, no clouds and no rain in my area on the gulf. I will say this Oct started out much nicer than the last few Oct's.
