Hi, I'm interested in renting a 1bd and don't which is better for me. Anyone have experience as far as safety of area, location/traffic, apartment quality/management, etc between these two?

I work in Pinellas Park and my boyfriend goes to USF Tampa. For me, is 275 or gandy better? For him, is 275 or crosstown to something like 50th st better? How long would a drive be for both of us (both rush hour traffic)?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Locations:
The Cove is off of: Westshore and Euclid
Camden Westshore is off of: Westshore and Gandy

I am not in Tampa yet so I cant answer about what these places look like or traffic, etc. Camden Westshore is one of the apts I am going to check out when I visit Tampa. I called them and it sounded ok enough over the phone to look at in person. They said they only have 210 units there, so its not a huge complex.

If you visit the Camden Westshore complex can you give your opinion of it here?

Both apt complexes are just a few streets apart. The Cove is right on Tampa Bay and Westshore Camden is on the other side of the street. Camden is a little newer than the The Cove. I am partial to The Cove only because I lived there years ago. Nothing beats sitting by the pool watching the sunset over the bay. We use to sail our Hobie cat from there, watch the dolphin play and party at the pool. There are a couple of restaurants in walking distance from The Cove plus the Green Iguana is a party place

Going anywhere at rush hour is going to be tough. I am going to guess it is at least an hour to get to USF no matter which way you go during rush hour. Can't tell you about Pinellas Park although Gandy is usually not as bad as 275.

My friend used to live there. its eh. nothing special. not good and not bad. I remember it being quite large with a horrible parkinglot layout though. It took me about 15 minutes to find my friends truck. when I went over there.

There is a lot of younger people living there. Early 20s. Lot of military.

I will check it out, and probably the Cove too since its close by. Do you remember the names of any other apt complexes near there that might be decent? Not every apt advertises on sites like apts.com and I am going to want to check a few out in case these 2 are bad. I would rather know ahead of time which places to visit so I dont waste too much time just driving around in Tampa looking for apts when I visit.

Check out Tortuga right over the Gandy Bay Bridge in St Pete. I played at a friends halloween party on friday night at a place called tortuga. It was a very nice place.
