For those of you thinking about renting out their apartments, or those of you wanting to know more about the rental market in general, here is my experience regarding renting out my 2-bedroom apartment in a condo unit on 4th streeet north, St. Pete. First off the real estate agent told me I needed to update the carpeting, painting, and bathroom sink. This was done. I asked the real estate agent if $750 per month was fair and she said yes. This is the amount I asked. I told the agent, no haggling on the rent. Take it or leave it. The condo is very nice and has an olympic sized pool, tennis courts, etc. In one week, I got a qualiafied applicant with good credit and verified job references. She put down a one month deposit and a $200 pet fee (she has a cat). She also paid rent for the month of December (when her one year lease begins). If anyone wants further details, email me at rock28z@yahoo.com. It was not that bad an experience.
