Zip Codes 33616 and 33611 are fairly good zips to live in. I have lived in 33616 since I moved to Tampa over 3 years ago and the community I live in is quiet and it is walking distance to the elementary and jr. high schools. There are several school zones and such with numerous crossing gaurds that will help your children cross safely and the drivers rarely speed through the zones because there is always a strong police presence.

I grew up in 33611. I went go to Monroe Jr high and Robinson High. I think Monroe is now a magent school and the kids now go to Madison--still heard good things. I went to Anderson Elementary--excellent school, I even put my oldest in there for Kindergarten. She loved it and I would gladly put my kids back there.

South Tampa housing off of Westshore ranges from about 200K to well over a mil. It all depends on what you like and can afford. Obviously the houses closest to the bay are the most expensive. Just south of Gandy on Westshore, they now have the brand new YachtClub. Houses are close to a Mil, but they lookout on the water and are very very nice. There are quite a few apartment complexes there too.

.
My child goes to Monroe Middle. It's not a magnet school. There are alot of trouble makers there though, but my child likes the teachers. They don't have a lot of after school activities, but the education there is good. They have regular classes, adv., and honors.
