Finally, some positive news in the paper!

St. Petersburg all-electric car dealership marks first in Florida

The cars, at least those that will be initially offered, are meant to be commuters, as they'll have a range up to 100 miles.

Good news!

Above all it says a thing or two about Tampa Bay and I am pround of that. We aren't light years behind "you know which" states.

Practically, still it may not mean much but we have to start somewhere. I have my own opinion about electric cars around here but that's for another thread.

Access to recharge station is one of the thing I can see why we are not there yet big time. But that is not something that can't be done. One can put some 30 to 50 stations in some strategic places.

Those cars would be PERFECT for Florida consindering how much we drive around here....we didn't get a Prius when we had the chance back when we lived in Orlando because the closest charging station was in Cape Canaveral....defeated the point in having it.

Would be great if they figured out the charging....

You can charge them at home, though it would be nice to be able to park and charge elsewhere as well.

I saw 32K, but they're eligible for a 7K tax credit.

The Prius does not require a charging station. It is a hybrid and charges while you drive it. I guess you should have gotten the prius after all.
