Hello all, was just wondering how much money can they take from me if i decide to move from CT to Tampa Fl next year?? if i make for example, 18 an hour and am in a management position, can they dock a lot off it? or maybe keep me the same? any feedback will be appreciated!!

You are being transfered by your company, right? So, your employer would know that than us. I would think the worst case scenario would be you would be hit with the cost of living adjustment compared to where you are now and you can find many online calculators for that such as this

One thing you could argue if they decide to decrease big time is that the generic Tampa doesn't really mean a lot according to my experience. Almost everywhere in Tampa cost more than what all this online calculators say cost living in Tampa. In otherwords, the stats are skewed towards lower income and my not be in a place you want to live, JMO. Becareful!

You didn't give enough information. It depends on your company's policies. This is also something that you ask your management not the people here.

As an engineering professional, I was transferred 8 times during my career in the oil business. My salary was never reduced and was sometimes significantly increased because of a transfer. But I don't believe that would be true in all industries and for all employee levels.

Based on my calculations they will bring you down from $18/hr to $13.93/hr
