Hello. I am interested in relocating to FL. I was curious how the jobs are for teachers and paramedics? Also, what are the best areas to find jobs in these fields. I am a secondary teacher and my husband is a paramedic. We are more interested in the family oriented neighborhoods that are safe and have lots to do. I'm more interested in Central-South Fl- the Gulf coast side.

Like everywhere else, the job market is slow here. Many cities have continuous openings for paramedics/firefighters, but I don't know if they're actually hiring or just compiling a database of qualified people. Teachers used to be in demand, but it seems the state legislature has declared war on public education and is taking no prisoners. I have a couple of friends that were recently let go from their public teaching positions. Lots of private schools in the area, though I don't know anything of their hiring policies-you might have to belong to a certain religious belief for some of them.
