Fear of armadilos and aligators

There are quite a bit more mosquitos than in Ohio (where i'm from) and seems like they are active much longer than there up north. Other than that, i don't think you will see poison snakes around your house, unless you decide to live somewhere in rural area close to woods/swamps

planning on living in a swamp? people here generally have pest control, either by themselves or hire companies......this is not Arizona...we have millions of kinds of spiders too, but they don't socialize like they do in AZ......

I passed by this guy as I was walking my baby in Cheval.....no big deal, I didn't say "Hello" and he didn't either!

I see the occasional black racer or yellow rat snake. At that point I freak the **** out and pee my pants a little because snakes are my biggest fear.

One night on a bike ride a buddy and I chased a 3.5-4 foot alligator out of the middle of a windy road without streetlights in order to save him from getting squished. He was pretty cool. He snapped at us a few times, mostly avoided us and eventually made his way back into the tall grass on the side of the road.

That is the extent of my experiences with Florida nature. The drivers here are far scarier than any gators.

I see an occasional spider, but not too often. We also have palmetto bugs/roaches. I only mention them because I had someone tell me the other day that the only time you really see them up north was in a dirty house, near dumpsters, etc. Here, they can appear no matter how clean you are. I notice them more during really rainy seasons. I don't ever see them in the winter, but during the summer when it rains a lot, I may get 1 or 2 that wander in to get out of the rain. And no, my house is not dirty. It also depends on the area you live in. Some areas get them worse than others.
