I checked travel times on Google Maps but with traffic and construction and what not I would like to get opinions from people who travel these roads.

How is the traffic from MiraBay in Apollo Beach during normal commute times and also from FishHawk Ranch in Lithia to around the Lowry Park Zoo (Wife's job is about 1/2 mile from the zoo)?

Are looking at the same type of commute or is one better than the other based on where these 2 communities are at?

Thanks

For starters, ignore Google Maps driving times. It factors posted speed limits and in reality how many of us glue the speedometer needle to 55? Bing is a bit more accurate. Bing quoted 24.5 miles from Mirabay and 52 minutes drive time currently (11am). From Fishhawk Ranch it's 27 miles and 47 minutes right now. Basically it's a wash it seems. Fishhawk Ranch is a bit remote in terms of things to do, so you might factor that into your decision process.

Thanks for the recommendation. I will try using Bing instead.

Carrollwood is your best bet time wise, trust me...there are several nice places around Carrollwood and your commute would be more like 10/15 minutes tops....straight down Dale Mabry...Apollo beach is far, far away and with traffic you can forget about it....so is FH....

The MiraBay estimate of 50 or so minutes is accurate. I live near there - can't really recommend Apollo Beach to anyone. Mira Bay is a beautiful community - nice homes, but there's really nothing immediately in the area. You'll pretty much have to drive 20-30 mins before getting anywhere worth visiting (Tampa, Bradenton, St Pete, Brandon, Sarasota).

I agree with Algia. Tuff drive. I'd want to be closer.
