Well this is pretty old...but in case anyone else does research, I live in Urban Place.

Most of the apartments have really outdated kitchens, some of the 4 bedroom units have spiral stairs. Don't get an apartment with the spiral stairs it's awful. Parking is pretty bad since there are no assigned spaces or parking passes. Parking is uncovered and the trees drop stuff all over the lot, so if you have a nice car, get a cover. One of my neighbors had their apartment broken into in the 2 months I've been here, but it really doesn't seem that shady. It is certainly better than the areas West of campus. The proximity to USF is great, and the pool is really nice. The "state of the art" fitness center is a joke, it's like 2 treadmills and some dumbbells. For the rent I pay ($230, 4 bedroom split 5 ways) it's a good deal. I like being practically on USFs campus, with places you can walk to on Fowler. You could even walk to University Mall if you really wanted to, but it's about 3 miles away, maybe 4.

Despite the proximity to USF there are a lot of families with young kids here. Most of these people seem to have very low income. I could really do without these people, as it would be a lot more fun if this was all or at least nearly all students, but for the money it's not bad.
