We have been buying Florida navel oranges since December but the last two times they have been dry rather than juicy. We have been buying them at Citrus Country Groves store in Clearwater.

Is there a better place to buy citrus in this area (we're staying near Hwy 19 and Ulmerton in Clearwater)?

Is it time to switch to another variety of orange? If so what kind? Navels are a favorite but not so much when they are dry.

Probably not so much they type of orange as it is they type of growing season they had this year. This was not a good season for orange producers due to the cold weather and I am sure that is why your oranges are sub par this season.

This time of year (soon to expire) is the best for Honeybells. They're wonderful...hurry and buy some. You can recognize them by their vibrant orange color and they have a little top knot. If the Honeybells are too tart for you, Temple oranges are good, too. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I saw a Florida Naval; I thought they were all imported.
