My husband and I are thinking of moving to Tampa in the next 8 months for his job. we are planning a PMV in the next 60 days to see if Tampa is the right place for us. We are looking for a neighborhood that is within 30 minutes of TPA (that is where he will be working). Our backround- we live in a suburb of Denver, no kids just dogs, have somewhat of a social life and are idealy looking for neighborhood that would compare to Wash Park, Cheeseman or Congress Park in Denver (lots of remodeled bungalows, some new homes, trees etc...) Not sure if this makes a difference or not (doesn't seem to in Denver) but he is Asian/Black and I am White. We would love a neighborhood that has lots of local restaurants and shops to walk to. We are open to living in any city, understand that places aren't crimefree and are just wanting a cool place to live that isn't "suburbia" or "stepford wives". Any help would be appreciated!

don't do it ........if I had the choice I would stay in Denver, lived there a short time , had to move back to Tampa area and hate every minute of it.......
mixed races/marriages shouldnt really matter in the Tampa area also....
I do believe that crime is higher in Tampa than in Denver, so be forwarned.... and careful
you could try South Tampa area, maybe some areas off of bayshore blv.
oh , and you won't have the great views you have there in Denver lol that said if you like the water then bayshore area is good for that

I'm not familiar with Denver, but based on your description, you should look at these two neighborhoods on your visit:

Old NE will be pushing your desired commute time, though. Probably more like 40 in rush hour.
