United States Patent and Trademark Office

This tells you the procedure to get a patent. You will/should go through an attorney even according to the patent office.

Thanks, I know that I was just wondering if there was a "local" office around here, their website is very helpful but I wanted to talk to someone in person before going through all that.

GrayRobinson, P.A., Extremely Floridian: A Florida Law Firm

I believe this law firm has patent lawyers. If you give them a call they'd probably be able to at least point you in the right direction for getting a patent.
