Hi - I just got a job in Tampa and are planning to move if everything works out good. Both my wife and I are excited to finally leave the snow behind after the last winter!!! We are in mid 40s and schools are no concern, but we are looking for a safe and relatively new neighborhoods. I would really like to get an idea of reasonable 1 bed room apts - price and location along with houses as well. I don't dive directly into houses as I won't be able to sell my house right away in Indiana but would like to have an idea of good neighborhoods and general costs in today's environment. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!

Welcome Hoosier!
It would be convenient if you say what area of Tampa your work will be.
Then ppl have a better idea of places to live. Also, if you want you can do a search on the areas that have been posted here before.

Welcome, I'm from Indiana also. Tampa is really spread out, so Annie's suggestion above is a good one. The summers here are really not hotter or more humid than you're used to, they just last a lot longer.

Hello!

We also moved here from Carmel.
I don't know much about apartments, however we own in a newer (2005 and newer)
subdivision in Carrollwood, which is a safe and settled area and only about 10 minutes from
your employment. Let me know if you have any questions!

What a coincident. How are the home prices compared to Carmel? I will start with the apartment rental. Would like to be stable in the new job for 6 months and selling my house in Carmel, I will look for a 3-4 bedroom house. Thanks.

We just moved to carmel 7 months ago. We will be looking to rent or rent to own a home near creekside when our lease is up on our townhome in july. If your place is what we are looking for and you are interested pm me maybe it could workout for both of us.

You have a good selection of apts in that area. This is a fairly new complex near the mall, restaurants and shopping
Citrus Falls in Tampa, FL

Here is another one that is hidden away but in a great area and it is a small complex. It is right on the golf course too

MAAC - The Aster

Feel free to ask about other apts. There are some areas that have some problems.
