This is one of the most unique things I've found to do in Tampa. If you're at the Convention Center, head down to the docks and say hello! The price is $30 an hour. $25 for students, military, police, fire fighters. It's probably the most fun I've had on the water.

We tried it last week and it was a lot of fun. Great for tourists but also fun for the locals, very easy to ride the bikes and they're almost impossible to tip over.

Impossible to tip and a ton of fun! They are a bit of a workout though.

Looks like a lot of work to go very slow and id imagine after an hour on a bike seat you would be feeling rather uncomfortable from it?

Honestly, it wasn't as much work as you might think. I'll admit, though, I am a bit out of shape (as you can see). I didn't stay on the bike for more than about 20 mins. The seats seemed comfortable enough. I don't think they're meant to ride for long periods of time, and I don't think they're meant to be a feasible form of transportation. Just a fun way to get some exercise in. In that regard, they definitely passed.

would be a good rental on Gaparilla Day - can you imagine being drunken on a bike-boat dressed like a pirate in the midst of the boats? ps...that's not a real city down there -
