Hi all. I have noticed some people saying that there is nothing to do around here and others that say there is a lot to do. I thought it would be great if we could start a thread with events that are going on in the Tampa Bay area. We can update when there are new things happening. It can be anything from a Craft Show to the Florida State Fair. I would love to see what all is going on around town.

I'll start us off. Chasco Fiesta is back. Here is a link to their calendar of events Calendar | www.chascofiesta.com (http://www.chascofiesta.com/Calendar - broken link).

I know this doesn't really help your thread, but thought I'd share.

Back when I was in high school (Clearwater High, class of 95), we got bored one night and decided to cruise some of the more upscale neighborhoods up by Belleair. Now you might think we were up to no good, and it's true, we were - but, our idea of no good wasn't malicious in nature. I'm sure we pissed off a few home owners that night, and if you're reading this now, please forgive us because it was all in good fun.

Well, on this night we came across a house with an abundance of lawn gnomes. So, we decided to move them over to the house directly across the street. Very gently we snuck in, and moved all 20 or so lawn gnomes from one front yard to another.

I always wondered to this day what the home owners must have thought when they woke up...

That is too funny. We did the same thing. Tarpon class of '97. We saw more ducks, etc. so we called it "going ducking".

I'd like to go to the winery:
Tropical Fruit Wines from Florida Orange Groves & Winery

Of course, there's the Dali museum:
Salvador Dali Museum (thedali.org) / The official site of the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida, featuring a comprehensive collection of works by Salvador Dali.

The Sunken Gardens:
Sunken Gardens

The Chihuly Collection:

There's LOTS more, but this is all I've got to post right now.

Renaissance Festival.. Lots of fun and good food. I love the handmade items you can buy there. Lots of unique items. My DLH always bought unique beer mugs. My favorite item is a box made of wood that is a puzzle with hiding places.

Florida's 2nd Annual Statewide Open House weekend is March 26-27. Participating Open Houses will be held in neighborhoods across Florida. It's a chance for potential homebuyers to conveniently view many homes in a single weekend. Look for the OH signs and blue balloons. If you want to search before you go, you can look up Open Houses on the local public MLS site at http://www.myfloridahomesmls.com.
