I don't see that from the posts on CDF.

I live in the New Tampa/Tampa Palms area and after living in quite a few different places, love it. I think that it is a bit less hot and humid than Houston, and I definitely prefer the heat to the cold and snow of when I lived in CT. There are actually quite a few area festivals and concerts, and multiple professional and semi-professional sports teams. The people are very outgoing but they due tend to diss there own town a lot. Not sure why that is. Crime has actually taken a big drop over the last 3-5 years, and is concentrated in certain areas of town. Don't let anybody scare you away.

People flooding to Tampa Bay area? makes sense with most people extolling the vitues of Tampa and Florida in general as paradise combined with a massive northern demographic seeming to not be able to cope with winter anymore it makes sense that large percentages of northerners are on the move to a neighborhood near you.

Funny you mentioned that. I watched Grapes of Wrath on AMC last night. Very topical, even today.

I don't know why everybody would want to move to escape the cold THIS winter. Across the country (everywhere but Alaska) it has been a much warmer winter than usual. You would think people would decide to stay put.

Memories and knowing the mind-numbing coldness shall return.

Florida has much more to offer than warm weather.
