My husband and I want to move to Tampa and we live in Georgia (sorta close to Jacksonville, FL). He is willing to travel immediately for interviews and states this in his resume when submitting to jobs online, but no luck. He has 5 years experience in the Manufacturing/Production Chemical field and is currently a Team Leader. Are there any job openings for a Chemical Operator, Production Supervisor, Production Operator, or Manufacturing Worker in or around Tampa, FL?

We have children so we can't just risk moving without a job. Also, he's seeking a pay at a minimum $17-$18 -no low paying temp jobs. We are looking for any sorts of leads or connections! Thanks for your help!

Sounds like you are well set up at the moment, and you are smart not to make the move before you have a job to go to as the job market in Florida is somewhat depressed at the moment..
Whats wrong with GA and what positive aspects of Florida make you want to move there, certainly cant be to escape winters

There are a lot of small manufacturers in the Tampa Bay area. The biggest problem is going to be finding a job while you live out of state. There are just too many ppl applying for jobs who live in the area. Perhaps check out mfg in the area to see if any fit your DH's occupation and then make a trip down to check them out. There are boat builders to office furniture to electric sign makers plus oil and shipping in the port Tampa area

Thanks for your help. I guess we'll just have to make a trip and scout the area for jobs.

We like all of the entertainment there and beaches. I think it would be perfect for us. =)

I doubt you will find a job with your salary requirements.

Most "manufacturing" type jobs typically pay in the $10-$14/hr. range.

I agree you aren't going to make that on a typical manufacturing job. Maybe if you can get on as a supervisor.

Even with no state/city income tax it isn't going to make up the difference in salary
