Hello there,
We are researching schools zoned for IRB (Anona E, Seminole M, Largo H) and am looking for feedback from anyone who has kids in these schools. I've looked at the Greatschools website but reviews aren't as current. Seminole High seems superior to Largo? IRB seems like a family friendly place, Kolb park was cool. Kids really dig the beach....we are planning a week vacation this summer to get a better feel. Thanks

Johnny

I went to the Pinellas County Schools website and plugged in a random address on the south side of IRB (353 Gulf, which is the CVS) and it said that the schools are Anona Elementary, Seminole Middle, and Seminole High. I plugged in an address on the north side of town (2405 Gulf) and it gave me the same elementary and middle schools, but also Largo High.

I hope this helps. I'm sure there are actual maps that show the boundaries, but this just shows that one little town is divided when it comes to high school districts. Keep in mind that Indian Rocks Beach is an independent municipality located wholly on a barrier island while Indian Rocks is the name given to an area on the mainland near IRB. The second Indian Rocks isn't an incorporated entity. I don't know if this makes a difference when it comes to school zoning (probably not), but it just is a good detail to know.

Anona - great - unless your child makes the ib programe being set up in largo High forget it, and it's a new program that maybe be cut, so be careful. Go south to Indian Shores to be sure youwill be in Sem district instead. Or buy in Seminole and the beach is near andyou avoid the flood/evac problems whenthey occur. lot less kids live at the beach, so they would be constantly travelling to friends, or you would be driving. stick to the neighborhoods and visit the beach instead. I think you would find that more sensible long term. We did both so speak from experience. Kids in anona, oakhurst elem (when we moved) sem middle and sem high (with one in St Pete high IB)

I went to Largo High. I'd avoid it at all costs, for a variety of reasons.
