When a lady is ready to give birth, she can't wait to get to the woods! *** Thanks for the link. My first thought was that now they are dead pups but I see there's a plan to put them in a zoo. I'm still worried about all the cat/dog hate I've encountered in Florida. The condo complex I live in is named after the heron. I haven't seen a heron yet but I have seen sandhill cranes twice. Second time I raced back home for the camera and got some pics. The crane walked near a man getting out of his car. I made a happy comment about the big bird and the man just snarled and looked as if he wanted to kick it. Sheesh! He needs to know that I will protect those birds!

I'm very glad to see the pups will have safe places to live.

There is a small dock on the property where I live that is a favorite spot for the fishermen in my building.
Often a great blue heron perches on the railing waiting for scraps.....he's been nicknamed Sushi.

I would love to see Sushi or any great blue heron. So far I've seen only cranes here in my community named Heron Cove. I have a special interest in this particular bird. I write a little fiction and I needed a very big bird for one chapter. So I searched and decided the great blue heron was perfect. Please toss him some scraps just for me!
