Not on US19. Hard to even go the speed limit.

US19 is a breeze. No problems. From Weeki north to CRiver is a smoooooooth sailing, errrrr driving. Turn on the radar detector and Zoooooom. South of Tarpon - &^*(#%@#*@#)#$%).

This had me laughing so hard that everyone was staring at me. Thank you for that.

I do think you need to edit that though to include Holiday. Just past Moog it starts to build up. It is also frustrating to be sitting just past Beckett Way (I know it is in Tarpon) and knowing there is a small bridge and a decent distance to the next light and you are just creeping along at 10-20 miles per hour.

OK, I'll bite. Where do you drive at 160mph besides in your fantasies?

I perfer being at the back of the pack to avoid those folks who just have to get to that light first. I can't tell ya how many times (actually, its most of the time) a bunch of cars will zoom by me and I come up along side them or right behind them while they are waiting for the red light to change to green.
I do the same thing. I don't see the point in driving fast to sit at a red light. It is a waste of gas and wear and tear on your car. Unfortunately, you can't do that down 19 during rush hour. Cars are too packed together for that to work. If you back off too far, people will definitely cut you off making you slam on your brakes making it even worse. You just have to stay with the flow.

It's even more smooth once you get into Levy county. Then i can really let my Corvette crank.

It's very rare, only maybe once a year on the open highway when no cars around me, and only for short burst. 160 is nothing for a modded C6 Vette.

Traffic lights in cities throughout the country have been synchronized for decades. Of course they do get out of synch and need to be reset sometimes but I highly doubt there is a study on the synchronization of lights.

It takes me about an hour an 10 minutes to get from Weeki Wachee to the courthouse in downtown Clearwater and when I go is usually between 6:30-7:30
Being it takes me 30-35 minutes to get to my office in the middle of New Port Richey every morning I can say it is about 35-40 minutes from New Port Richey to Clearwater in the morning without speeding.
Of course if you are in south NPR it will be less or if you are going to the south side of Clearwater it will be more.

Not only that Mike, the systems in place in Pinellas allow for adjustment of the synchronization as needed depending on traffic conditions.

The majority of drivers I observe have the same habits. Driving over the speed limit, keeping up with the other drivers regardless of what is going on down the road.

Then they complain they hit red lights and wonder why.
