Why are some of these news stations all of the sudden spelling his name Usama, I thought is was Osama. A sign of disrespect perhaps. Supposedly it used to infuriate Saddam when Pres Bush would pronounce it more like Sodom Hussien.

In any event, good riddance, although several years to late, better late than never.

It's because there's no set method for translating Arabic into English. I remember news stations using Usama back in 2001, but they all seemed to switch to Osama shortly thereafter. Another example would be the current leader of Libya: it's either Gaddafhi or Qaddafhi or a few other ways.

he was a mere figurehead, but it was a long time coming. closure will be brought to the families of many who were killed thanks to terrorist actions.
