I will be moving to Tampa in the next few months from Mississippi. I am looking to rent for maybe 6 months to a year during my first year of studies at USF.

I have narrowed my apartment search to Korman and Camden . Do any of you live in or know of the apartments and surrounding areas. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Also any suggestions of any other great places to live that are reasonable would be great to:
need great elementary school and safe environment (have a 5 yr old)
anything less than a 20-25 minute commute to campus

Thanks for all your help

I don't know Kormon, but live a mile away from the Camden apartments. I believe your 5 year old would go to Tampa Palms Elementary school (A rated, Blue ribbon school). You would be responsible to drive him/her there since you live so close to the school. I have talked to a number of people who have lived there and say it is nice place. Crime is fairly low. I sometimes check the newspaper for crime for my zip code (33647). They list the street where crime happens. I see a few "Amberly St" each week for crime. I don't know if that means The Camden apartments. The people I know who have lived there never complained about feeling unfase. Those apartments tend to have a lot of USF students there.

Hope that helps.

I live at River Chase! I love it here. I am a USf student and its close enough to campus but not too close where you get a lot of traffic! I got a great deal on my apartment and I have a really nice view of the lake. I have lived here 2 years and have recently renewed my lease for another year. The gym is huge and there are 2 large pools. Crime can happen anywhere but I do feel safe here. Its in temple terrace so its set a little off from the city. You should really consider living here. When I came to check out the apartments before I first moved in, they have a ton of floorplans to choose from.

I have lived at both, Korman had screwed me and my fiancé over though. If you ever have any issues they don't want to hear it we had to go through corporate and their lawyer just so they would annull our lease after they blatantly lied to us from the beginning. We ended up paying 699 not including their trash or other fees plus we had to pay for water separately meaning we ended up paying like 750 for a 800 square foot 1 bdrm apartment. Camden I have just moved into so far it isn't that bad I work at Usf so it's not that far off but traffic is annoying in this area they're doing construction on Bruce b downs they worked out a good price for my apartment 650 a month including w/d cable trash pickup my average water nil is like 25-30 so I don't mind and they're very pet friendly.
