I'm in St. Pete and it is a stunning day. Too bad it won't last. I could deal with this forever.

Now, that's my kind of weather! I love it when it's cold and cloudy and rainy here. I actually feel happier when the weather's like that.

Like I was saying... going into the water in January would be downright silly. The water is 50s in January, not 60+. No one was swimming when we went to Indian rocks in Feb. Its just too cold.

So what if the water is in the 50s. Most people don't go in the water for more than 10 minutes anyways. It also rains a lot less in January than during the summer which makes it a good time to go.

Since you mentioned IRB I will go with the closest numbers for there which would be St.Pete beach.
Here is a link for you showing average water temps in January, which is the coldest month, is 62 degrees. Feb. is 64 on average.
Water temperature | Gulf of Mexico
The numbers are from the National Oceanographic data center. Who do you get your numbers from?

I love sunny days and I also enjoy the rainy days. I think our brain cells respond to the weather changes and for me, it's a good day to make a pot of coffee or tea and read a book. I leave the patio door open so that I can hear and smell the rain even better and watch the tree activity. We would be gone in a hurry without rain, wouldn't we?
