I am a Florida native who has been married and living in Tennessee for the last 15 years. We are considering moving back to Florida but we want to avoid areas with high crime or a lot of natural disasters (hurricanes dont bother me, I can see them coming) and from my research Palm Harbor is fairly quiet compared to most places.

We are a family of five, my husband and I are in our young 30's and we have children ages 10, 5 and 3.

Would you say Palm Harbor is a good place for a young family?

Are there areas you would recommend or avoid?

What are some of the fun things to do in the area?

Any other thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks!

There are no bad areas in Palm Harbor, but for Palm Harbor University High, I would try to live in that zone which is roughly north of Tampa Rd. and West of rt19.

Lots, Bike the Pinellas Trail, visit Honeymoon Island and the nature center, many county parks, see the sponge docks at tarpon springs, fish at the causeway or lake tarpon, there is an ice rink in Oldsmar, etc, etc....

I agree , there are no bad places in Palm Harbor, the high school is very highly rated. Overall, pinellas county is just getting over populated and I personally am tired of the florida heat 9 months long.
