Planning to Relocate to Tampa Bay Area.
Husband has a job offer in St Petersburg.
Young professional family with 1 yr old twins.

Like the look of Wesley Chapel or Bradenton - can I get a realistic feedback on commuting into St Petes. Hours of work will be about 7.30-5.30.

House price range is $250k, will need good daycare as well.

Any opinions on Wesley Chapel or Bradenton welcome.

For Wesley Chapel: Morning commute will be 45 minutes. Evening will be an hour. This assumes he's not driving to the very end of south St Pete. I drive from Wesley Chapel to north St Pete and my commute is a little shorter than the times I gave you. I'm also very close to the interstate at home and at work.

I really like Wesley Chapel and you can get a nice house for $250k right now. But he has to be willing to put up with the commute. I do it, but some won't.

I would choose Wesley chapel over bradenton. At least with WC you are closer to the city and other things, there isnt much to do in Bradenton. If you look into bradenton look into lakewood ranch, its a new community. I have a friend who lives there schools are good, housing is cheap, its a little bit more rural.

Where in St. Pete? That makes a difference (a big one) on commute.

I disagree about "nothing to do" in Bradenton. Depends on what one likes to do. I personally do not like all the traffic in Wesley Chapel, which is just one big suburban sprawl now (and growing) with no town center. If you don't care about that you might like it just fine. In Bradenton you have outstanding beaches on Anna Maria Island if you like the beach, plus the beautiful Manatee River.

At any rate, if working in south St. Pete, choose Bradenton (a really quick and easy drive). If north St. Pete you might consider Wesley Chapel if you really like it.

Good luck!

I used tolive in Bradenton and live now for years in Wesley Chapel.

I prefer Wesley Chapel over Bradenton...Bradenton is to me more for elderly people and you will see a lot of so called "snow birds" who drive very slow, slow, slow....

Wesley Chapel is having a nicer Mall, more Tampa orientated. Way more younger people...

The only nice thing for Bradenton is that it is closer to the beach.

But everybody has his own preferences...
