Checked out this area today. Seems nice, quiet, community driven, etc. Any pros/cons to the area? Married, 2 elementary aged kids, etc.

thanks!
Jason

Make sure you check which schools it's zoned for.

Crystal Beach is OK. But you have a mix of nice houses with not so nice places. Crystal beach doesn't have a beach per se. Or should I say I wouldn't call it a beach? Some rocks with a small park.

Schools zoned for that area are one of the best in the entire pinellas. Pinellas trail is in close proximity and you will love it if you like riding bike. The wall Spring Park is close too. Few minutes drive you have the Honeymoon Island and Caladasi too.

So, in general I would buy there too but not exactly what is technically called crystal beach for the reason I mentioned above. Make sure about the insurrance if you are really close to the water.

Good luck

We lived in Seaside Sanctuary from 1999 thru 2004.Had a lovely home on the water but the no-see ums were a nightmare!!Also no mail delivery, you have to go to the post office which gets old if you're not a Maybury RFD fan! Lucky for Crystal beach a Publix went in about 1&1/2 ago because that was a big drawback to the area!!

SO it isnt a bad place. Nothing special, but what you see is what you get?
Just many nice houses and the smaller older ones appear to be reasonably priced.

Rent there before you buy. If you need to commute to Tampa, it's going to be long and congested. Be sure to use google "Pinellas School Locator" to determine which schools are zoned for the address. Although, in Pinellas that does not necessarily mean that your kids will go to the zoned school.

If you are going to buy, check the address at freeflood.com. Most of that area is in a high risk flood area, meaning your lender will require you to carry flood insurance... which will add onto the cost of your monthly payments.
