Pasco teen driver killed, 2 passengers injured in overnight crash

A teen driver died and two passengers received major injuries in a one-car crash Saturday morning in Pasco County.

Deputies said it appears 16-year-old Tim Bryant Jr. lost control of a 1998 Toyota. The car went off the road, flipped and slammed into a tree. Bryant, of Holiday, died at the scene.

Two passengers, 18-year-old Christopher Holbrook and 18-year-old Craig Fowler, sustained serious injuries and were flown to Bayfront Medical Center.

The accident happened just before 3:50 a.m. in the 1000 block of Normandy Blvd.

----

First I have to say how sorry I'm for the family...

Second...I don't understand what a 16 year old is doing on the road at 3.50 am in the morning...to me nothing good can come from that, and this proves again that nothing good came from this.
That doesn't mean that this a very tragic accident...I have a child almost similar in age, but he won't be out at that time frame.

It is illegal for sixteen year-old drivers to be on the road past a certain time. Like a lot of things, it's just another law that the police seldom enforce.

How much longer before it comes out that drinking was a factor?

I wonder if the parents will be liable for having their child out there on the road after (Pasco Counties) curfew.

If he was 16 he's on the parents insurance policy so they (and their insurance company) will bear the financial burden for the accident anyway. I doubt any criminal charges will be filed against them since it was their son that died, not the other 2 passengers.

It said they all were wearing seat belts. Why is it always drinking? just thinking aloud positively.

It could be lack of sleep, over-speeding and other factors.

Young kids do lack driving skills.

Don't know how old you are. Anytime you want the wheel of my modded C6 Vette then we will see how good you really are.
