Hey everyone,
I'm a 25 year old single, professional male trying to get a work transfer from Indianapolis, IN to Tampa but would like to live on the gulf coast around Clearwater or Dunedin. Can anyone give me an idea of what areas to look for housing around Clearwater that are safe but also have a little bit going on as far as nightlife or just a happening area? I like to have a little bit of fun but also enjoy just being able to lounge on the beach. If I were to choose Clearwater, where is a good spot? I know going down to scope out the area is best but I might not get much of an opportunity to do so -- any advice at all? Serious replies only, I want answers!

Pretty much all of Clearwater is safe so not much issue there most likely in the price range you're hunting in. The extreme SE side of town (Feather Sound), NE St Pete (Gateway area) and the Countryside area on the NE side of Clearwater near Countryside Mall would be my suggestions for you.

What is your price range? Renting or buying?

I think Kylie is right for the most part. There are some areas around downtown that are a bit rundown. FeatherSound is right on the bay which might be better for a young professional especially if you like night life. You aren't too far from S. Tampa which is where the YPs hang out. Depending on where you work it might be a longer commute.
