I am helping advise a friend that is relocating to the area. With their price range, I suggested looking at Westchase, Waterchase, Westwood Lakes, and Nine Eagles.
The one question that came up that I don't have the answer to is how the CDD fees work in Westchase. From what I recall, some but not all of the subdivions pay them. The HOA is normally listed in real estate listings, but CDD is not. Is there a general rule of thumb about which neighborhoods have them and which do not? Also, what is the $ amount that they typically run?
I don't think Waterchase, Westwood Lakes or Nine Eagles have them currently correct?
Does anyone have an idea of how the HOA costs compare in these areas? Fairly similar?
Finally, it is my understanding that for schools the Westchase area is broken up by Westchase Elementary/Deer Park then Davidson then Alonso. The others go to Bryant/Farnell/Sickles. When we lived in the area Westchase was split in half with some going to Alonso High and some going to Sickles. That appears not to be the case anymore and all are zoned for Alonso. Is this also correct? What is the current reputation of Alonso vs. Sickles?

To Find CDD rates go to HCPAFL.org - PROPERTY RECORD SEARCH

Search the property address and it will break it down for you.

To determine which school is assigned to an address go to http://apps.sdhc.k12.fl.us/locator/

Determine the reputation of a school go to http://www.greatschools.org

Thank you for the links.
I guess I was looking more for a general rule. For some reason I thought it was something like Linebaugh and Countryway were the cut offs. Everything east and north paid CDD, west and south did not.
Or perhaps the areas that aren't westchase proper but still along countryway? Maybe this has changed over the years though.
