I did a google search and I know that this has been asked several times before BUT the reason is I am from BK (Brooklyn for those of you who don't know) I have just recently moved to the Tampa area for School and in the NYC the clubs and the night life change about every 2-3 years so the info that I find on the 2 to 3 year threads could be outdated.

What I would like to know is the most active clubs that will have lots of College Kids going to USF (I live off campus and I don't start yet so I don't know anyone) and or clubs that have a lot of people from the community colleges as well.

I would also like to know what are some of the newer clubs or venues and some of the lesser known more underground ones.

I like partying and meeting girls (the usual dance clubs) and rock as well.

So, Ybor is ehhhhhhhhh...anymore. Yes, very young crowd (pretty ghetto)- but too young (teens). If you do go to Ybor, Prana is still pretty good, many levels, reggaeton, dancehall, hip hop, techno.
The Kennedy is a good spot, very small though..but alot of USF students.
Hyde Park Cafe, AJA Channelside and Jackson's (also in Channelside)
Now in St. Pete (downtown) there are alot of spots. People are surprised, yes- it is safe! I would worry about Ybor before St. Pete.
Push Ultra Lounge
and all of the surrounding clubs that are within walking distance are cool.

Hopefully this helps, feel free to message me if you have any other questions

There is a club out at the Hard Rock Casino. The casino is the only place that stays open all night, FYI. I'm sure there are other after-hours bars, but none that I would recommend.

Jackson's isn't at Channelside, it's close though, on Harbour Island.

Would there be a lot of College Kids there? I've been to the one out in Vegas and its all people in there 30s and 40s and a bunch of 40 year old women trying to act young. Then again they were all probably drunk tourists.

For College kids: Bulls Club (the name says everything), Acropolis (in Tampa Palms) on wed, in Ybor I'd just go to Prana on thu, it's more quiet but World of Beer in tampa palms on wed (not a club tho), Kennedy's on thu, AJA at wiregrass on thu. Idk which night is best but also Legends around usf
If you want something underground Czar on wed. I liked also the Dallas Bull on thu, country/rap with a good mix of people
SoHo is always good but probably on the weekend there are more students, same AJA at channelside. Idk life around UT, I know The Retreat is a student place and that's it

No, I guess not, come to think of it. But if you're ever in the mood to meet some cougars...

I don't really know the college scene around the main USF campus, but I know South Tampa much better. There's a cool UT hang-out called Retreat on Hyde Park Ave. just south of Kennedy.

The Retreat - Since 1938

Check out Soho (a strip on S. Howard ave between Kennedy and Swan) for college age/young professional crowd. There is The Kennedy and Drynk clubs/lounges and bunch of bars.

Ybor is interesting. Some places is just down right scary, others you won't know what you will find inside. Feel free to check it out, however it is not the place where i would take my friends from out of town for a night out.

Int Plaza, by airport, has few places too, however they are quite expensive and geared more towards business crowd that stays in hotels around the airport

I prefer girls my own age, it seems like most Cougar women want a younger guy just so they can try and control them like in the movie Bull Durham.

Ill check out the clubs though.
