Need info on Plant City...don't have any school-age kids anymore...just me and the hubby...we're in our 40's. Hubby is a restaurant manager, I'm an RN. What are the good areas of Plant City, or any outskirts of the city that would be a good place to move to? We're from Indy. Thanks!!

Plant City isn't known for being an especially nice place to live. You might check out neighboring Lakeland. The southside north of the 570/Polk Parkway is a nice area.

You won't get an honest assessment here on this board regarding Plant City from people who DON'T live here.

There are many nice areas to choose from depending on what you are looking for. Try looking at Walden Lake for a nice gated Golf Community, Country Hills area closer to Rt 92, Walden Lake East, the City of Plant City for older homes, outskirts of Plant city for more land and acreage homes. There are homes from $25k to over $1m

Let me know if you need more info.

I've been to Plant City a few times and think it's a nice small town. It's not somewhere I would choose to live, however, if you want the small town feel close to larger cities(Lakeland and Tampa) it might be worth a look. Dade City is also nice, but with a lot fewer amenities. Sorry, I can't answer your specific questions about where to live in Plant City.

It's still about an hour or so to Orlando. Are you planning on driving there once a week or daily? It's not worth it if it's the latter option.

But Lakeland has more to do and is far more visually appealing than Plant City.

I grew up not far from PC and went to High School there for one year. If I were to live there I'd pick Walden Lake without a doubt. I think it's beautiful back there.
