Deciding where I should vacation between the 2 areas. I want a place on the beach preferably areas I can walk to beach bars and shops etc although I will have a car. If anyone can recommend which area Clearwater or Treasure Island and a nice hotel on beach that would be great.
Thanks.

I would pick Treasure Island. How much per night are you looking to spend for hotel... including tax?

treasure island gets my vote. you're reasonably close to the other beaches too, so, bonus.

I was just down there and I think Clearwater beach is much better than St. Petes or Treasure Island. St. Pete and Treasure Island were kind of dumpy. I also drove to Siesta Key which is also a very nice beach and area.

Not sure how long your vacation is but how about splitting it between the 2 areas. if you have a car the two areas are less than 15 miles apart.
Treasure island has a shopping plaza (Central and Gulf)and the Johns Pass tourist area and some bars and restaurants, also has long beach with white sand and lots of Gulf water
Clearwater has much in the way of new construction of hotels, some shopping ,bars and restaurants and has long beach with white sand and lots of Gulf water.
I'd say Clearwater due to all the new construction is much newer looking than Treasure island.
At a guess i'd say Treasure island might be a bit cheaper..

Clearwater is newer and looks nicer, but I personally like Treasure Island better.

Treasure Island is always my pick, I haven't been to Clearwater beach for years now.
