Ah, thanks JeepGirl, yea I should really see if I like this area and get a rental somewhere. I was told Palm harbor is a goood location, this particular unit is right off tampa rd. I guess I should keep looking around and rent somewhere. Any suggestions? I was thinking ph, clearwtr, or maybe st pete ( some areas look undesirable). I have been through all these areas and some parts of tampa and really liked the dunedin, ph area along with parts of clearwater. The condos are very affordable i think so I really should look into buying soon and not sure I want to be stuck with a lease for 7 months. Anyways, thanks for the encouragement. I understand that area is more yuppie and moving but location wise I was not feeling the vibe. I prefer a little more laid back near the beach feel. Thanks again

Palm Harbor area is a nice area but not really a 'happening' place for singles. You would be around 20-30 minutes to Hyde Park/SoHo area, where Jeepgirl lives and the nightlife.

You may find some seniors scattered around but unless the place is a 55 + you will probably find a mixed group of ppl.

Post North Clearwater & Dunedin

At this point, I have lived in Largo, Clearwater and Dunedin. I would say that north Clearwater and Dunedin are the best two areas that I can talk about. Both have nice amenities, like lots of water access, shopping and so on. Clearwater has Clearwater Beach of course, and the causeway leading out to it. Dunedin has their own causeway, which is very nice, as well as beautiful Honeymoon Island at the end of the causeway, and access to Caladesi Island too.

There are a number of nice neighborhoods you can get into without spending a fortune, in both north Clearwater and in Dunedin. Dunedin has a realyl quaint downtown, right down the street from their marina, and they have lots of fun downtown events. It's a nice place to go wander around.

North Clearwater has the mall as well as a number of under-appreciated parks, like Mosquito Lake and Laka Chautauqua Parks. Very nice little parks.

Very helpful information. I am from Philly, living in the Mt.Airy section of the city. I decided to move to Dunedin as a result of my daughter and grand children moving there. I have secured an apt. at Malcapine. I am goin down in May for a week or so, then I will be moving the first week in October to live permanently. I love Philadelphia and am going to miss all the activities that I have been able to experience there i.e. the arts, show, plays, music. etc.. I'm wondering about the activities there. If anyone could offer me some advice and/ or feedback I would really appreciate it.I love plays, jazz, opera, etc.
