Is this a good excuse to miss the Rays games?

Whats your take on this?

If you want an excuse to miss a Rays game why not cut to the chase and just say you dont want to go..

Me? I'm a Yankee fan from New Jersey.

But I was listening to the radio and a large number say this is a hassle. So I was curious if it was as bad as they say.

Losers. Last year, the Rays actually gave away 10,000+ free tickets to the 9/29 game, yet people STILL complained that they had to pay for parking. This year, the Rays offered free parking to the 9/23 game, and people STILL complained that they had to pay $12 for tickets.

I usually wrap a Rays away series in with a vacation every summer, so I laugh at you Tampa Bay whiners who are afraid to drive over a bridge.

It's playoff baseball -- get there early and tailgate!

It is not. You can drive from downtown Tampa to the stadium, park, grab a beer and be in your seat within 45 minutes. One of the TV stations last year actually grabbed a news camera and tried this experiment during rush hour*.

For comparisons sake, how long would it take to drive from New Jersey to the Bronx, park your car and get into the stadium? How much would that cost?

For the price of a Yankees game plus parking, you could hire a limo to drive you to/from a Rays game.

Tampa Bay whiners just like to whine, since many have never traveled to another city/state/country before.

* Tampa "rush hour" is absolutely nothing like a Chicago, NYC or LA rush hour. Having to slow down to 40 mph for a few miles is not a traffic catastrophe.

I think because Tampa Bay is a town of transplants you don't have the fan loyalty here. Having said that...my husband and son are former Mets/Yankees fans and they are now Rays fans...

It isn't the bridge, it's the people themselves!

Who cares -stupid worthless poll question non-issue - except to say any organization that plants a stadium outside a 30 min commute from the heart of it's population doesn't understand sports franchise management.

Kinda says a lot when the place is only 80% full on the most important game of the baseball season.
