Are there any places in the Tampa Bay area (Tampa, St. Pete, Clearwater, Brandon, etc.) where you can play/rent a drum set by the hour? I'm looking for a studio or something similar where someone can pay to show up and play a drum set in solitude. They had places like this when I lived up north, but a google search is turning up nothing in the Tampa area. I thought it would be a nice present for someone who loves playing drums but is barred from doing so because of the condo he lives in now. Thanks!

There are many Recording Studios in the area that provide this service. Check out the Local Craigslist "Services" community group for such studios. If you need help, let me know, but you'll want to find one that is close to your/his home location. Also, many music stores like SAM ASH, Guitar Center, Percussion Pro, etc in the area have lesson rooms you could probably rent for a few bucks to practice.

Why doesn't he just go out and purchase a Roland Vdrum electronic kit which are basically silent when you use headphones??

Good tips, thanks! I didn't think of the music stores.

And he lives in a very small condo, so he's contemplated an electronic set but doesn't really have any room.
