This weekend I was looking at several Mercedes home at Grand Hampton. The quality of the Mercedes home looks fine to me. I am very tempted to have a Mercedes Portofino model built on a conservation lot at Grand Hampton. The only fear that I have is Mercedes home quality. Rumors have it that their quality is not good at all. Would buyer beware becomes an issue?

I also looked at two attractive resales home that I am considering buying. One is a Bonaire built by Aurther Rutenburg at Seven Oak in 2002 and the other is a Southern Crafted Srathmore II at Grand Hampton. Does anyone has experiences with Aurther Rutenburg or Southern Craft?

Both are much better than Mercedes. My brother-in-law owns a Southern Crafted in West Meadows and likes it. They had some issues early on, but they were fixed promptly.

IMHO, "No" on Mercedes. "Looks nice on the surface but made cheaply," is what a construction friend of mine told me. He did not go with them.
