I have been very disappointed with the oranges, whether from grocery stores or socalled florida fruit shops.
Where do you all find good juicy Florida oranges near Largo/Clearwater?
Any tips?

I have also been disappointed in not finding oranges here. It seems like Tropicana buys all of them.

Me three. I remember once back in NC, we did a favor for a neighbor. They traveled to FL on business and brought us the most amazing oranges! Now that I am actually in FL, where are the amazing oranges? We joined a produce delivery service which brings items directly from the growers, so I am hoping we will get some good citrus fruit that way. I haven't even seen any at the farmers market . . .

Gosh, I wish I could remember the name of the place. Went there a few times when we lived in the area.

It's on Walsingham Road, a couple blocks West of Indian Rocks Beach Rd across the street from Rocky's Diner (I Believe). It's an orange company that has several different types of oranges, tangerines and other citrus. They also have amazing fresh squeezed juice (I like the tangerine juice better than the orange).

Absolutely fantastic citrus!

This is where I buy our oranges (you pick your own citrus):

The Orange Grove - No pesticides are used, oranges, other citrus, tangerines, Other fruit or veg,
15433 County Road 39 South, Lithia, FL 33547. Open: November 1st through April, Saturday, Sunday and ALL Holidays, 10am till 6pm. Directions: 15 minutes from Brandon, Sun City Center or Plant City. Crossroads are CR 672 and CR39, Lithia Florida (aka, Fort Lonesome) 2 miles South of Lithia State Park campgrounds, on CR 39, 1200 feet South of CR672

Found this seller on pickyourown.org. I have been buying navel oranges -- $10 for a 5 gallon bucket for all types of citrus.

The place in Largo is Yellow Banks Groves.

If you drive to Mount Dora, there's a bunch of u-pick groves out that way with amazing oranges, including red navel, etc. Of course it depends on the season, etc.

I've been told that crops are just beginning to come in. And to look for Honey Bells. Any place to buy the real thing near Dunedin?
