Hi, I am a 38 year old single guy that would like to relocate to the Tampa area. I would like to find one of those apartment rental complex's to live in for a year maybe more. I would like to stay away from the ghetto areas and TPT. Someplace nice and modest that I would not be ashamed to invite a friend over. I do not have to commute to work as I am 90% remote for what I do. My budget would be around $1200 per month. Any assistance would be great appreciated.

Goodness yes...this isn't NYC.

I have a 2br house with large yard in South Tampa for only $900.

Before we settled in to this place, we looked at a lot of condos...the whole Melrose Place style with open courtyards and all. We found many 1-2br for $700-1000 in a great area (even closer to the action than we are)...and a few right in the action in Hyde Park for $1000-1200.

No problem.

uh yeah, i rent a 2k sq foot house for 1300 a month (in brandon), you'll do fine. Brandon has some nice houses that you could rent for a good price, if you're interested, I can PM you my realtor's info, they rent a lot of houses. The house we moved into had all new Ac, windows, etc, so our heating/cooling bill is always under 120 (even in the prime of summer). I loooove my house, i wish i could keep it!

Yes, you can rent out of the ghetto for that price. It is all going to be a matter of what kind of place you want.

You can get a house for that amount of money.

You can get a very nice apartment in a very nice apartment complex for that money as well.

Nothing else needs to be said about the likelihood of finding a place within your budget. If you want more assistance, describe what you're looking for.

What else is important to you? If you like to bar hop frequently where the professionals go then I suggest S. Tampa/So Ho/Hyde Park/Bayshore area. If you want to live in a more family oriented area then your options are many.

You can rent a 2/2 with views of the Gulf for less than your max amt.
