We may be relocating to Tampa within the next year and have an 8 month old with some needs that require him to occasionally see an orthopedic specialist, allergist, and physical therapist. Is there a pediatric hospital in the area that is very reputable? Does anyone have an pediatric orthopedic specialist they can recommend?

We do not want to make the move if our son will be affected negatively in regards to his health care needs. We currently live in Philadelphia and have access to a number of excellent children's hospitals. However, I assume a large city like Tampa would also have some good resources?

The only children's hospital that I know of in this area is All Children's Hospital in Tampa and St. Pete. They have a very good reputation. We also have Shriners.

What kind of orthopedic specialist do you need? My daughter saw Dr. Antonio Castellvi who is a spine specialist. He is absolutely the best spine doctor in this area. Top notch. My neighbor's niece had surgery for a rapid progressing scoliosis. He did a superb job. The girls family had taken her to NYC and did not like the experience there. The girl demanded Dr. Castellvi. His office is with Florida Orthopaedic Institute.

Sorry, I don't know any reputable physical therapy places. There are plenty of them, I just don't know their reputation.

There are good allergists. I have been to Dr. Craig Kalik in Valrico. He sees kids and adults, but mostly kids.

One comment I would make, Florida is a huge allergen state, you might want to investigate this before a move, the environment is lovely but pollens and other allergens are pretty high here.
