We're looking for a 3BR house to rent in mid-northern SP area (Largo, Clearwater, Pinellas Park, W/E Lealman, Seminole). Rent.com, Trulia, and Zillow do not have a lot of homes for rent in those areas. It's difficult to find property management companies in that area. Are my options limited for finding a 3BR, 1200+ sqft home for $1200? How else can I scout homes other than those websites listed above or looking through individual prop mgmt companies? Google doesn't seem to be much assistance at finding prop mgmt companies, either. Believe me, I'm putting in the work, just don't seem to be getting results.
Move date is in June. I know that's pretty far away for finding houses now, but I want to get a good idea of what price ranges we're looking at, square footage, etc. so I'm prepared later when we go down in May to find a place to live.

Thanks,
Jeremy

try coldwell banker.

also, the market for decent 3B homes in st. pete is pretty dry right now, which is why you're not seeing a lot of results.

Try searching on realtor websites directly. We went and looked at century21.com and found a LOT of houses for rent for example.

Thank you for those tips! I checked out coldwell banker and couldn't find the rentals for them. Century21 was a little more helpful. Does anyone else have more sites to check out?

Thanks again!

I agree with Craigs List, that is where I advertise my rentals.
Just be cautious and make sure you get a proper contract.
If you have children, you might want to know about school areas too unless you are taking them to private schools.
Good luck with the relocation

I've checked out Craigslist and it definitely has a lot to look through! Thank you for the info and advice on getting a proper contract. My children will be attending public schools and I have researched them quite a bit as well through greatschools.org. Thanks again everyone!

really recommend you come and drive the neighborhoods one weekend at least, maybe a month or two in advance of your move. There are a lot of homes to rent in my immediate area - Seminole School dstrict but they tend to be private owners in the main.

Realtor.com - shows about 60 rentals for that area right now in that range, give or take a couple hundred bucks. This site is ok, has a decent iPad app.

Craigslist - definitely a good place to search. Agree with others who have posted, you need to make sure that you have a good rental contract, and do your due diligence.

St Pete Times classifieds - in the paper and online.

Tampa Bay Tribune classifieds - same as above

Most realtors and property managers will have their listings in at least one of those sources. Although, it wouldn't hurt to give a realtor a call and try to enlist their help as well. Many of them are running rentals down right now with the home sales market being soft.

Good luck with your hunt!
